[Today, Saleh is one of those poor unfortunate souls who got himself caught in a Tron bike . The bike speeds through Luceti in wild zigzag patterns, leaving a blue wall in its wake. The race doesn't last long, though, as the bike eventually crashes violently into the fountain. When the smoke and bike parts disappear, Saleh stands up, shaken and stirred, but otherwise unharmed.]

[So, Luceti, have a dazed and confused sage staggering around the plaza.]

[Kain stands by watching...]

[When the race ends, he holds up a paper with an unusual message. He's drawn a thumbs up symbol, and next to it the phrase:]

[Saleh pauses as he spots Kain. It takes him a moment to his vision to stop spinning long enough to read the unusual message.]

I...

What was that?

[Kain frowns as he looks at what he'd written, and writes more.]

I have no idea.

[Then he adds, with an odd look at Saleh...]

What was THAT?

Wh...what? I...don't know...

[The question only served to confuse him even more.]

[Ok this day has already started out weird.]

That contraption you were riding... What was that?

I haven't the foggiest idea. I had picked up a strange blue object from the ground, and before I knew it...I was inside that contraption, unable to control it.

How strange... [But fascinating, so someone here is going to be on the lookout for strange blue objects.] Someone could have left it behind, perhaps?

Possibly. I don't know who could have...

[A bad thought occurs.] The Malnosso?

...What is it?

Could they have been responsible for that strange device?

[Not that it's going to stop Kain any from wanting to try it.]

Do you mean this is...an experiment?

I don't know... it's possible. [He thinks back to the time that random carnival appeared. There's that, and the sudden appearance of 'electricity' and all that goes with it. It wouldn't be too out of line to think it could be them...] We're overdue one of their experiments, after all. But this might also be some new 'technology' they're introducing.

"Technology?"

[He's still not sure about all this "technology."]

In any case, I would not be caught in one of those contraptions again. It was not a pleasant experience.

[He's not even too fond of riding horses, which was the most popular way to get around in his time.]

[Kain's still not totally comfortable with the 'technology' either, though it's been a few months.]

Yes, that's the word they give to the... lights and cooking boxes and similar devices. [He pauses. Actually, there's a good reason he thinks he'd want to try them and might even enjoy it, but he doesn't want to get into that now. Eventually he writes more.] At least it seems easily enough avoided.

Indeed. It seems that many people are quite accustomed to this sort of life, as technology appears to be very common for their time periods.

I wonder if this technology will eventually appear in my world?

[Probably not for at least a thousand years...]

An interesting thought. Most of it doesn't exist where I'm from, either.
