[Seeing and hearing everyone reacting to their transformation has Saleh in a slight panic himself.]

What in the world…?

What is happening in the village?

[OOC: He's unaffected, so this is my "freak him out with your transformations" post.]

[Have a Night Fury who's finally figured out how to use his journal.]

Everyone's turning into something else.

And the Malnosso have developed a very broad definition of "something else".

Another experiment? I see...

Forgive me for asking, but...have we met?

[In this state, it would be impossible to recognize anyone he knows.]

No, I can't say we ever have.

Rupert Giles. Nice to meet you. I'm normally a bit more, um, human shaped.

It's nice to meet you as well. I am Saleh. Thankfully I am still human...for the moment.

Well, I certainly hope you stay that way.

This isn't the worst experiment I've ever lived through, but the only way I can get in and out of my apartment like this is to take out a wall.

[identity profile] mountain-sage.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry to hear that...

Have you considered staying elsewhere for the duration?

[Rydia is unaffected...so far. Cue a sigh.]

Pure insanity, that's what.

[Voice]

[identity profile] mountain-sage.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, Rydia...

[Pauses to collect himself.]

How are you faring in all of this?

[Voice]

[identity profile] eidolon-soul.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
My entire household is transformed. It's been an...interesting day.

[Voice]

[identity profile] mountain-sage.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
But...what does one do when they are transformed like that?

[Voice]

[identity profile] eidolon-soul.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Try to live with it until it wears off, I guess. There isn't anything they can do to return to normal on their own, not until the experiment is over.

[Voice]

[identity profile] mountain-sage.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm...I suppose it would also depend on exactly what they turn into...

[Voice]

[identity profile] eidolon-soul.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, Kain's a moogle, Sephie's a...toy...and Cecil's a strange woman who attracts ravens.

[Voice]

[identity profile] mountain-sage.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[He has no idea what a moogle is, the woman attracting strange...but it's really the toy that concerns him.]

A...toy? Is Selphie able to...act of her own will at all?

[Voice]

[identity profile] eidolon-soul.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
...well, it looks like a toy. And yes, she definitely can. Her journal entry was loud enough to wake me up.

[Voice]

[identity profile] mountain-sage.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, was that...? I see.

[He remembers that outburst, but just didn't recognize her.]

I really...don't know what to do in light of all of this.

[Voice]

[identity profile] herpderpetile.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[There is an anthropomorphic mutant red-eared slider peering into Saleh's journal window. In a moment, he clears his throat - as best as he can.]

If nobody else has informed you - the Malnosso appear to be conducting an experiment involving spontaneously changing the species of various individuals in Luceti.

Normally I am a human - homo sapiens sapiens - but apparently the Malnosso felt it prudent to misinterpret a prior statement of mine. [He smiles wryly, as much as you can do so when your face is a beak.]

[Voice]

[identity profile] mountain-sage.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
So I'm beginning to see.

[He studies the mutant very carefully.]

...And you are?

[Voice]

[identity profile] eidolon-soul.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Just...don't attack anything, since whatever beast you see is likely to be a villager, at this point.

[Voice]

[identity profile] herpderpetile.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
A trachemys scripta elegans, mutatens. [Every time he gets to say that, it makes him smile a bit.] In layperson's terms, a mutant red-eared slider - that is a species of turtle on some Terran multiversions.

I would wonder if other peoples' transformations are as... ironic as mine seems to be.

[Voice]

[identity profile] mountain-sage.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
It is true...but I would not initiate an attack anyway. I suppose now would be a good time to head into the mountains. The New Feathers have settled in by now, I would hope.

[Voice]

[identity profile] mountain-sage.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[And all of that scientific jargon just flows right over his head.]

I'm sorry...I meant to ask for your name.

[Voice]

[identity profile] eidolon-soul.livejournal.com 2011-03-28 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
A mountain retreat isn't a bad idea, though keep your journal handy. You don't want to run into trouble and be unable to call for help.

Ah, my apologies. [Robert smiles sheepishly at this, looking a little embarrassed.] I am Professor Robert Alexander Hastings.

And yourself? I have never spoken to you before, and I apologize that our first meeting had to occur at such an uncomfortable time.

I don't know anyone who has a place where I could fit.

Sleeping outside has been easier. And I don't mind much.
