[Saleh wakes up in the forest, feeling very disoriented. It takes him a moment to regain his bearings. What was he doing out here, and why is he just waking up?]

[He begins to think. He had just been in the clinic with Rydia, and something had happened. A woman was attacking, and Saleh had pushed Rydia out of the way. And now he was here. What happened to the woman, and is Rydia still all right?]

The clinic! Rydia! What is happening??

[The poor sage may need some help getting back, as he still feels weak from when Kusanagi had stabbed his dead body at different points...]

Saleh?? Where are you?

I'm...in the forest...

[His voice sounds weak and broken.]

Are you well? What happened...?

Where are you?

[You really might not want to answer that.]

[He answers anyway, because Kain is a friend.]

Kain...? I'm...in the forest.

I'm sorry...

[Not as sorry as you'll be for trusting this guy. You've caused Rydia pain. It's time you paid for that.]

I see.

[Wandering to the forest now.]

I'm fine, and so is Kain. We--

--do you see any landmarks around you? Anything that can help me pinpoint where you are?

[The forest is a big place, after all.]

[And the sage will just be laying there, leaning back against a tree. His staff is on the ground next to him, and he's gripping it loosely.]

[He's looking around, but all he can see are trees and more trees. He does hear some water running in the distance, however.]

I can't see anything. I think...I can hear the river...

[Which isn't about to stop Kain from what he's come for. Incoming fist to the face. :|]

[Ouch. The sage falls over as the punch connects squarely. The punch jolts him out of whatever half-dead trance he was in as he slowly pushes himself back up against the tree.]

Kain...? Why...?

I'll start searching along the river, then. What's your condition?

Just...very weak...

[At least he thinks he's in one piece...]

But not injured, right?

[Pausing to look down at his side, where Kusanagi had struck him down.]

My flesh seems to have mended...but I can still feel it.

I'm sorry. I--

[Stopping herself, since finding him is the most important thing.]

I'll find you soon.

Thanks...

[He'll be waiting patiently for her.]

[It takes a while, since she doesn't know where exactly along the river he is, but at some point she calls out within hearing range.]

Saleh?

[Like he's going to bother answering. He's lucky Kain only feels in a one punch mood toward him. That done and satisfied, Kain gestures in one direction. The village is that way.]

[He hears her voice and tries to call back, but can't quite muster the strength. He can only hope that she can hear him anyway.]

Rydia...

[Fine, he'll just ask about it again later. For now, Saleh's going to ignore that little gesture. He's not getting up on his own.]

[He can try but Kain will refuse to discuss it. For now he waits, sighing a little. Fine, he'll see he gets to town but that's all.]

[So despite not being yet at full strength himself, Kain moves to pick Saleh up. And then Jumps.]

[It's just enough. Rydia heads in the direction where she heard his weak voice and rushes over.]

Saleh!

Saleh...

[What a relief to hear from the sage again. Too many people got hurt.]

Rydia...thank you.

[He doesn't know what to do, but he's glad that she's here.]

Ceodore...? What happened?

[Is Rydia safe? Is the village safe? And that woman? Too many questions cross his mind...]

[She doesn't say anything else for a moment, immersed in using Nala's healing magic. There's no way she's moving him until he looks a little better off.]

Uh well... you died in that fight.

I had a feeling...

But what's happened now? Is Rydia all right? How fares the clinic? And that woman...?

Yeah. I revived her and she's been resting.

The woman... I'm not sure but I think she was settled.

[Settled/Killed same difference really.]
