[065] Action
[Well, it's been almost a month since Saleh had received the Excalibur tome. It was past time that he tried it out, to see if he was ready to use it, or otherwise see where he stands in his magic studies.]
[So he heads to the Battle Dome and programs a basic scene, an open field of grass and clear blue skies. He feels the breeze blowing softly around him...it's perfect.]
[Opening the green tome, he studies it intently, and then extends his free hand, concentrating. However, nothing happens. No manipulation of the wind. Just the gentle breeze blowing as nature wills it. After a moment, Saleh gives up, catching his breath.]
So I'm not yet ready...
[He ends the simulation and steps out, still staring at the cover of the tome. He may not be able to wield it, but he can feel how close he is. So much power, so close, and yet so far away. Saleh can't help but feel the desire to wield this sacred power. Perhaps Kain was right, this was something worth striving for. He has reasons to continue his training and improve. The Excalibur spell was only one of them. The other reason was that his student had arrived. By training Ewan, he could train himself further. They would both become more powerful.]
[But all of that would happen in due time. Saleh gently closes the tome and begins to leave the Battle Dome. He can be caught as he leaves, or later sitting by the fountain plaza.]

Greetings... are you well?

[On the contrary, Saleh isn't that disappointed. Well, maybe a little, but it's a minor thing. He has more reasons to be glad.]
Hello...I'm fine.

May I inquire the same for you?

[He glances down at his tome again.]
But it seems that I am not worthy of it yet.

Saleh? What do you have there?
[Action]
[Saleh holds up the tome, showing him the green crescent embedded on the cover.]
This is Excalibur, a wind-based spell, and a sacred twin relic of Jehanna.
[The very one that Ewan had mentioned.]
[Action]
Do all of your spells come from books?
[Action]
[He'll put away his Excalibur tome and pulls out his other tomes, one at a time. He pulls out Thunder, Elfire, Divine, and Fimbulvetr. The element of each tome is evident by the color of the tome itself, and the symbols on the covers.]
I can also use staves for healing.
[Action]
I did not know that books could harbour such power. There are no such spells in Aether. The people look to us for 'magic', though really it is our innate ability as Spirits, granted by the planet itself.
Hmm, how does a stave work differently? I wonder what else could be used to generate this magic.
[Action]
Though I am slowly learning magic from the Filial spirits, I am not as proficient on its use, so I still rely quite heavily on these tomes. With my student newly arrived here, perhaps I shall step up on my own training, as well as teaching him.

You looked really cool with it, at least...

You need not look so down, Ewan.

Hello!

Rydia. Grocery shopping, are you?
no subject
[She tilts her head.]
You seem well....
no subject
[He bows his head.]
Yes...I do have reasons to be glad right now.
no subject
[She holds off on explaining the importance of that for the moment, though.]
Oh? What's happened, Saleh?
no subject
[He'll bring out his Excalibur tome to show her.]
Also, my student has arrived here from my world.
