[Over the river and through the woods, to Grandmother's house he goes...]
[Saleh's making his journey in his red cloak, carrying his basket of goodies. Except he's not sure where to go after crossing the bridge.]
That's strange...I could have sworn this was the way to Grandmother's house.
[Help him out?]
[Or "eat" him?]

Oh...I beg your pardon. I didn't realize anyone else was out here.
no subject
No pardon necessary! It's beautifully fair weather, and I tend to like the cooler afternoons. It's far too tempting not to walk. Forgive me if I'm polluting it with my whistling.
[He strolls up pleasantly next to
dinnerthe hooded walker, smiling as though he's just discovered a new friend.]Some place you're going, or was it as irresistible to you to be outdoors by yourself?
no subject
[And the naive little Saleh will be fully honest...which is actually normal for him.]
A little of both, I suppose. It is a beautiful day, so I thought I would come out to visit my grandmother.
no subject
Would you like some company? Good walks in good weather are even better with the accompaniment of conversation.
[His ears perk slightly in his mess of curls, a docile look of hopefulness on his face... for now.]
no subject
Indeed. Very well, I would appreciate it.

[Guy pulls his hands from his pockets, one hand curled around a lighter and a cigarette, the other offered for a handshake. After all, there must be introductions, if this is to be a proper
feastingacquaintance.]Guy Burgess, wolf.
[The latter part of his name comes out as an added title before he can stop it, but it's all part of being swept up in whatever this is.]
no subject
Saleh, Little Red Riding Hood.
[Pause. Where did that come from?]
no subject
[He means it in every possible way as he lights the cigarette, pivoting on his heels to continue their walk together. He perches the cigarette between his lips, and raising a lighter up, quirks an eyebrow and a glance toward Saleh.]
An absolute pleasure to meet you, however. Cigarette?
no subject
"Cigarette?" ...What is that?
no subject
Tobacco, neatly wrapped in paper, perfect for smoking. Though by the looks of it, you don't seem the sort.

I tend to like the smell of it myself, though I love the scent of burning.
[When he takes a puff this time, he blows it away from the redcloak.]
Wood burning fire, middle of the woods. Night air... colder season. Candles when the wick first catches, matches the moment after strike. Little, controlled, burning licks of flame. Even the little ones look wild.
[He leans toward Saleh with a nod of his head.]
What are your preferences? Favourites?
no subject
[He's walking along, still looking for any trace of a house.]
no subject
[He picks up whistling for a moment but stops quickly as though he's just thought of something.]
Have a destination at all? Or content to meander about the woods?

Does she live in more natural surroundings, or is she in the throngs of civilization? I'm content to help you look, of course.
[Or urge him deeper into the woods.]
no subject
[But where? That is the question...]
no subject
That's a good chap. We'll find it then.
[He leaves his arm there, drapes it over the red-cloaked shoulders, and begins to steer Saleh toward the woods.]
no subject
and the threadjack approaches...
Soon, soon it will be the perfect moment to pounce, and he's ready for it.
An unclocked moment passes and Guy pivots on his heels. His other arm finds Saleh's shoulder and Guy puts all his momentum forward into tackling Saleh into the leaves of the forest floor.]
no subject
Ah...what are you doing!? H...Help!
no subject
It's a matter of not scaring off the prey before he's upon it. But even quietly, Anthony Blunt can move quickly. So there's suddenly a hand on the back of Guy's shirt collar, tugging him up and back.]
Wondered where you'd run off to.
Though I figured if I saw red, I'd find you too.
[He's slightly aware that this isn't quite how the story goes, but he's too busy trying to figure several things out.
Like why he knew to follow the sight of red. Why Guy has a tail. Why Guy has animal ears. Why he isn't actually surprised by either of these things.
...He is, though, slightly surprised that a pounce from Guy was met with protest. The tail and ears must have put him off his game.]
no subject
I'm having a bit of fun, you know, and it's quite rude to interrupt.
[He seems to know Anthony's thoughts as he marks the furrow in his dear friend's brow.]
Particularly when I'm getting ready to turn that protest into not only an invitation, but a plead.
[He turns back toward Saleh, grinning the wolf.]
Nothing says we won't find the house afterwards. Now, where were we?
no subject
What...are you doing?
[He asks once more, somehow knowing that the wolf was trying to eat him, but still can't believe it. This guy isn't really a wolf, is he?]
no subject
[The hand is out again to grab the back of Guy's collar the moment he turns back toward... whoever this is.
He looks at the young man on the ground.]
Sorry about him. Don't know what's gotten into him today. [He can't help but chuckle.] Usually he's much more charming.
